TEHRAN (IQNA) – Unfortunately, the process of defining religion introducing it in society, as an Ummah, has been such that the sense of beauty in mankind has been neglected.

Islam religion of peace and beauty

This is according to Ahmad Mobaleghi, a member of Iran’s Assembly of Experts, in an article provided to IQNA, which is as follows:

When the Holy Quran introduces the Holy prophet (PBUH) as a role model, it aims to introduce the Prophet (PBUH) as a model of life for man and human society and when the phrase ‘good model’ is used, it means God wants to say this role model’s method is in harmony with beauty (the beauty that the nature of mankind seeks).

Unfortunately, the process of defining religion introducing it in society, as an Ummah, has been such that the sense of beauty in mankind has been neglected. So much so that sometimes some think whatever has embellishments lacks the truth of the religion and whatever in which there is the truth of the religion is far from beauty. This is while the Quran says: “O children of Adam! attend to your embellishments at every time of prayer, and eat and drink and be not extravagant; surely He does not love the extravagant” (Verse 32 of Surah Al-A’raf)

Two points can be deduced from what was said. First, the religion does not neglect the aesthetic sense in humans as it attaches importance to embellishment. Second, the religion does not introduce to Muslims a role model that is away from beauty. On the contrary, the outstanding characteristic of this model is beauty, a beauty that is inherent in human nature.

Among the cases of beauty that are obvious in the Holy Prophet’s (PBUH) behaviors, one can point to his interaction with the society. He paid great attention to creating kindness in hearts instead of spreading hate, and to Islamic fraternity instead of social difference, and to social morality instead of violence and clashes, and to unity in the Ummah instead of tribalism, and to considering murder as Haram (forbidden) instead of condoning it, and to developing peace and security in scoeity instead of spreading fear and terror, etc.

Many groups in the Muslim world do not reflect the religion in a beautiful manner in their conduct, behavior, and attitude and that is why they have created problems, bitterness and violence in other people’s lives that causes people to move away from the religion.
